Festivals

Festival by the Bay, in Petoskey will be August 19 - 21. Expect to find traditional festival favorites such as the Celebration of the Sunset, Jiimaan canoe rides, sporting events, arts and crafts fair, tasty food concessions and a music line-up that will entertain all. Harbor Springs Car Festival, will begin with a two-hour driving rally/tour on Thursday, August 11. The rally begins and ends at the Birchwood Inn, which is located on M119 about 1½ miles west of Harbor Springs. Cars will begin assembling at 9 a.m. and the rally leaves at 10 a.m.. Lunch will be served at noon at the Birchwood Inn. Call (800)530-9955 to register. The cost is $20 per person and pre-registration is appreciated. Festival continues with the car show at Zorn Park beginning at 5:30 p.m. Display your car; no pre-registration required. Bay View Music Festival, an annual series, features concerts beginning at 8 p.m. in Hall Auditorium. The festival runs through August 14. The public is welcome to all musical events, as well as the myriad of educational, religious, and recreational activities offered by the Bay View Association. For tickets, call (800)595-4849 or visit www.bayviewfestival.org. The Bay View Box Office is open 9:30-12 p.m. Monday -Saturday and one hour prior to concerts. Homecoming Pow Wow, will be August 13-14 at the LTBB of Odawa Indians Pow Wow grounds. This event is open to the public and filled with culture, dancing and drums. Property of Pleasantview Rd. in Harbor Springs. For more information call, (231)242-1427.

Town Sound

Street Musique, in downtown Harbor Springs promises to be family fun. Organized by the Chamber of Commerce, musicians will play throughout down town from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday nights through September 1.

Uptown Entertainment Tuesdays, will run every Tuesday evening through August at the Fairview Square. Join us from 7:30 p.m. until dark for some home grown entertainment. Performers will be located at 1030 State at the center of the Square. The public is welcome, so come and support local artists. To become an act at the Square call Ryandavid Marihugh at (231)838-7365.

Aloha Monday! Today is our second week of school & our first full day for all of our kindergarteners! We have 3 kindergarten classes this year and we’re excited to see how fast those kiddos will grow. I will be providing support this morning to help with students and parents who may have some separation anxiety.  Then daily tasks of behavior support, administration, and planning.
